note to self

that splurge meal was so not worth it... chinese food should never be used as a splurge...

I don't know how I used to eat that stuff all the time... white rice, sesame chicken, dim sum and an egg roll... not worth it..

maybe instead of one meal a week to have whatever I want.. I'll just give myself a day off from counting calories..

the up side is that at least food doesn't have such a hold over me anymore... maybe I wont even do a 'splurge' meal next weekend...although I am meeting up with a friend on saturday..hmmm

Today must be the day for Chinese food. Just read another blog on that. Also I had Chinese food earlier today. I felt afterwards like I really was just eating with my eyes, because it really wasn't that good, but I haven't had it in a while and it looked good.
I like your idea of just taking one day off from counting calories.

I KNOW IT.
I love the chinese food and it is less the caloric splurge than how crappy I feel from all the SODIUM & MSG afterward.

I try to not think of "splurge" days, because then it gets me thinking of eating as either black or white. Like I'm either eating super low calories, or I'm eating the greasiest thing on the planet :)

I never plan splurges, my brain doesn't work like that. But I do go off plan sometimes and splurge. And I love when this happens because of it - body says: "ewww".

That kind of listening to your body is really beneficial.

I think that not counting day is a better idea. It would be a nice break.

I love Chinese food too. It really is so full of salt, sometimes the next I can't even make a fist I am so swollen. I had never heard of splurge day.....can you do that? (lol)

Hmmm. Chinese is a favorite splurge of mine, but then I love love love salty food. One of my girlfriends is a sweet-aholic. So when we want to splurge we go out and eat a regular meal, an "on plan" meal. Then she orders a ridiculously sinful desert, and I order something wrapped in cheese and fried. It really helps us both to somewhat contain the splurging- but still really enjoy it! Good luck.
